New Green on Green Street!
Phillips & Company | 909 E. Green St. | 626.796.6000

Inspired by the renovations made by IDS Real Estate Group to their 80 South Lake and Thatcher Medical Center properties, as well as the renovations made by Legacy Partners to the Union Bank Building at 70 South Lake, Tony Phillips, Managing Member and principal owner of Green Street Professional Building, LLC, decided to also make some changes to his building.  Green Street Professional Building, LLC owns the Federalist style red brick building located at 909 East Green Street.  The building is on the North side of Green Street, and on the East side of the Union Bank Building at Lake and Green Street.  Phillips & Company, a CPA firm, and Downstream Exchange Company, an accommodator in 1031 exchanges, both owned by Tony, are tenants in the building.

While the majority of the changes occurred inside the building, improvements were made to the outside, as well (to view building, click here).  In anticipation of the clients of the CPA firm visiting the building to have their tax returns prepared, Tony wanted to make sure that the outside of the building was as inviting as the inside.  He also wanted to make it attractive for the clients of the attorney tenants of the building.  Tony consulted with Susie Hyde of The Petal Planter, 626.286.8643, and they came up with a plan.

The changes were very simple and inexpensive.  Arroyo stones were put in a planter area between the parking lot and the building; dichondra was planted between the arroyo stones; eight English tea rose bushes were planted; dwarf Italian cypress trees were placed in pots; and the twenty-six year old bushes in the sidewalk planter were replaced.

Tony is hopeful that his small scale renovation will inspire other owners of small buildings to make their buildings more attractive, as did the large scale renovations surrounding his building.
