I am very excited to share with everyone that the highly anticipated South Lake Avenue Streetscape Improvement project will begin this Monday, August 11, 2008.  This project will not only enhance South Lake Avenue's appearance, but will help to conserve water and power for years to come with the installation of new high-tech irrigation and electrical systems.  The South Lake Streetscape Improvement project is headed by the South Lake Business Association in partnership with the City of Pasadena.  Please be sure to check the South Lake Business Association's website for more information and updates. 
 
The South Lake Business Association's newsletter is a source of information and news for businesses and property owners within the South Lake Avenue Business District, the City of Pasadena and residential communities.  We are currently accepting submissions for the September 2008 newsletter so if you are a South Lake Avenue business or property owner and would like to participate in the newsletter, please e-mail your submission to slba@southlakeavenue.org by August 20th.

Pasadena Walkabout II | August 9, 2008

The South Lake Business Association participates in Walkabout II!  Join us as we discuss an action plan to make Pasadena a more walker-friendly city.  Ice cream will be served to all that attend.  Walkabout II will be held at 585 E. Colorado Blvd. RSVP to 626.744.0340.
 
South Lake Streetscape | August 11, 2008
The South Lake Streetscape Improvement project begins August 11, 2008 and will be completed by November 4, 2008.  The first phase of the 2.6 million dollar project consists of street median upgrades.  New landscaping, high-tech irrigation and electrical systems will also be part of the renovations.  Updates regarding this project will be posted on the South Lake Business Association's website.

Report Crime or Suspicious Activity 
The South Lake Business Association Helps Fight Crime!

The South Lake Business Association has joined forces with the Pasadena Police Department and neighboring Business Districts in an effort to deter crime in Pasadena!  Crimes can be prevented and suspects apprehended more quickly if suspicious activity is reported promptly.  Business and property owners are encouraged to report non-emergency circumstances and any suspicious activity to the Pasadena Police Department by calling 626.744.4241.  To report an emergency that requires immediate assistance from the police or fire department, please dial 9-1-1.

Businesses Are Offered Incentives To Save Energy

Pasadena Water and Power announces the launch of a new energy savings incentive program for non-residential customers.  The Energy Efficiency Partnering Program (EEP) offers rebate incentives to businesses who permanently install energy-saving equipment or devices.  For more information: Water and Power EEP

Your Opinion Counts! 

Pasadena Water and Power is developing a 20-year Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) to ensure reliable and environmentally responsible electric service, competitive rates and energy independence. The IRP takes into account future energy demand, advances in renewable energy resources and technology, energy efficiency, conservation and forecast changes in regulatory requirements.
 
PWP encourages the public to participate in the development of the IRP by attending public meetings and submitting comments and questions to staff.  For more information: Water and Power IRP
